DJs, Officiants and Florists: OH MY!

Its decision making time again.  Time to reserve the services of some people so that were sure to have music, bouquets and most importantly: someone to marry us.  These are hard and stressful choices to make because you have to do them very quickly, without a great deal of information at your disposal. I think we are doing a good job of investigating and making educated guesses as to who will be best suited for our wedding.

For a DJ we are sending off a email of questions today to our top choice from the bridal show. So long as everything comes back well from that we will most likely book him.  He had a good vibe at the bridal show, and as long as we can book this guy specifically, and not a random one from the company I think we are in good hands.  Its time to make requests for songs or requests for the banning of songs (Do it in the comments below, don't be scared!)

Jeni found this great looking Officiant place. This is good, because we didn't really see any at the bridal show up in Madison.  The best thing about this place is that they are open to pretty much anything it seems.  If we want to get married while doing handstands underwater and eating a hotdog with mustard on it at the same time... they'll do it.  However the Rev.  probably wont go in the water with us.  That would just be ridiculous. Not only do they seem open to most things, they also provide some structure or basis for the ceremony (if we want it) with this packet that we received with a bunch of modular pieces to pick and choose from.  This way we have a backbone of a "normal" ceremony from them, and we can add in whatever odd things we want to.  Don't worry though, the terrace doesn't have a swimming pool, and I can't hold my breath that long;  plus, think of what that mustardy water would do to Jeni's beautiful dress!  Anyway, this place seems to be just right as far as balance between structure and freedom.  I think with the starting point they provide we can construct a wonderful ceremony.

Picking our a florist is something we are kind of far behind on.  We have been putting it off because we really have no idea how to deal with flowers picking stuff out, especially with it being November in Wisconsin.  I think we have been somewhat afraid of what this stuff will cost.  Its important to me, if possible, that we get local greenhouse-grown flowers rather than shipping them in from California or some remote place.  I was somewhat discouraged when at the bridal show I kept getting very weird looks from florists when I asked about locally grown flowers for November.  However, we have been scoping out places online which seem to grow flowers in greenhouses around Madison and have found a few.  Who knows what they will have but that is the next step.  We have a small list of florists with greenhouses (we think) and we are going to send them some questions within the next few days.  This was the biggest question mark for us before, but now that we have a pretty solid theme and color scheme (see Jeni's post a few below), it should be much easier.

Its all coming together one step at a time.

Also, don't forget to leave song suggestions in the comments, I want to hear them!
